This is great. We are considering driving to Sonoma from the Bay Area and are concerned that there will not be enough charging stations to allow us to drive our electric vehicle…so we will look forward to the near future when these stations are installed. Thank you.

These charging stations are pie-in the sky. Follower had it right with getting a standardized battery like most everything else battery powered.

I have seen a battery replacement station things, here is one:

I don’t think that I would spend enough time to get charged up most anywhere I go, unless to a family member’s homes.

Converting our truck fleet to natural gas makes more sense. Less cost, less pollution.

The range issue with Electric cars will improve over time no doubt but it could be resolved NOW.

Standardize battery packs for all Electric cars.
Make them easy to remove & replace.
Instead of dumping millions into charging stations that will rarely be used, set up “Swap Shops”.
Drive in, pull the dead pack, replace it with a fully charged pack and you’re on your way!

Under that scenario, I would seriously consider electric.

If a NASCAR Pit Crew can replace an entire engine in 10 minutes, a battery pack for an electric car can be designed to be replaced in seconds.

Why is the County involved in this? Isn’t this a free enterprise business? If they want to help us how about fixing the roads and getting us less costly gas.
