PG and E has been fined for not trimming and cutting with the resultant power outages, now taking flak for doing a job.

By the way, your Government just ripped out over 300 Redwood trees, some BIG ones at the coming Airport Blvd freeway exchange. It was tree rape as only Caltrans can do. . Not a peep from anybody human, but since I live nearby I have seen that the birds are not happy.

Don’t be kneejerk here, let PG and E judge the safety on the spot. The guys that do this know their stuff, and care about all sides. These aren’t some hillbilly folk out cuttin’ trees. Or some corporate suit. They do hard work in hard terrain.

I’d rather a tree cut than have thousands out of power. Not selfish, but for those on medical devices or during a good TV show, or storm reports, or dinner, or breakfast, or charging my cell phone, on and on.

A good electricity delivery system is a matter of public safety, as much as any other thing in our lives.

There are rules, regulations, and laws already enacted to properly handle this entire affair.

We don’t need parasites of government pretending that we need their grandstanding and publicity seeking discussions.

GET THE ROADS PAVED. That is your job. Not seeking publicity for yourselves.

Federal Energy Regulation Commission rules also set a “zero tolerance” for any tree that comes too close to high-capacity lines. “There are no exceptions,” spokeswoman Brittany McKannay said after the hearing.”
