I don’t see why you folks at the PD are opposed to waiting to announce all the applicants’ names simultaneously after the deadline has passed. I did notice on Twitter that someone or some group has suggested that you, Paul, should be appointed to the empty seat. I have no idea whether applying is of any interest to you. If it is, by all means — every Santa Rosa resident can go for it if they want to. But that aside, do you at the PD think that by reporting names in a piecemeal manner before the deadline that you will somehow influence the nominee pool? Do you think that if Santa Rosans knew so and so had applied that it could spark someone — possibly an opponent — to apply too? Is that it?
