Initiative process focus of LWV presentation

David McCuan

David McCuan, a professor of political science at Sonoma State University, will discuss the initiative and referendum process in California on Feb. 23 in Santa Rosa at an informational meeting presented by the League of Women Voters.

The group is attempting to identify the deeper policy-based issues that will help shape its position on California’s initiative and referendum process in the future.

The presentation, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Christ Church United Methodist, 1717 Yulupa Ave., in Santa Rosa. Light refreshments will be served.

For information, contact Shirley Johnson-Foell at johnsons@sonoma.edu or 707-206-1138.

At a second meeting in March, the Sonoma County chapter of the League of Women Voters will discuss what positions it will take on the initiative process and submit them to the statewide organization.

The PD is padding this forum with new topics, regardless of their relevance, so they can push hot button items off of the “front page”.

Why is this considered news? This is a public anouncement. This clearly demonstrates how far the Press Democrat has fallen in reporting the facts of what is going on in the community under the new regime.
