Where in the Constitution does it mandate a capitalist economic system? This is right-wing propaganda. We are free to vote in socialism, if that is the will of the people. Mockingbird is right!
Our Welfare system is broken and needs to be overhauled.

But of course that’s Wal-Mart’s fault, not the fault of the Democrats for creating a Welfare system that not only allows this to happen but actually spends OUR TAX DOLLARS on advertisements to get more “victims” on the DNC payroll.

Let’s not mince words here.

Welfare has been perverted into a “cash for votes” program that (if you look around you) has worked out quite well for Kalifoania’s one party system.

But it all the fault of those “evil corporations”.
Or those “evil “Republicans”.

No wait… IT’S GEORGE BUSH’ FAULT!

Someone should do a poll of Walmart workers to find out how many also get welfare money, foodstamps, Medi-Cal, rental assistance, and subsidized childcare. So we don’t pay much in the store but we pay in taxes while Walmart makes their billions, are one the richest families IN THE WORLD and pay little.

I don’t call this the American way.

Always a mystery as to why City planners and politicians buy into the “create jobs” myth. When other busineses are negatively affected by a big box corporation, those employees lose their jobs. New Job, sure-at Walmart for minimum wage, poor hours and no benefits. Increased demand on all city and county supportive services is the result. So who wins? Walmart!Who loses? The entire community.

We are supposed to live in a free open-market capitalist society. All businesses, seeking to thrive, produce, expand, and provide employment must be allowed to expand and adapt to the market and competition.
There’s been a growing negative anti-Capitalist movement in America for quite some time. Sonoma County seems to be right in the middle of this movement. Competition is the best fair and open market principle that we all should embrace.
There was a name for people who fought against progress and invention in the early 19th century. Luddites formed to protest against industrialization then, and appear to still be among us.
We all benefit from the successful businesses that we all patronize in our daily lives. Your choice to shop at Wal-Mart is your choice. To demonize “big business” is UN-American at its core. We need to stand for business and stop the loud mouth activists that seek to take us back in time and limit our freedom to shop and support businesses.
There’s confusion between Capitalism and crony-Capitalism. We’re seeing much of the later today. Crony-Capitalism allows those who are politically connected, to use their wealth to obtain favors from big Government at the expense of the people. Small business can’t compete fairly in this environment.
Bottom line is people like to save money and have a choice where they shop. Competition allowing a free and un-constrained market provides this. Let business be free and operate within the constraints of a free market Capitalistic system. This is what our Founders vision of America really was.

Leave Wal-Mart alone. I lived in RP for over 25 years and I saw nothing but prices going up and up. RP needs a good discount store.

Safeway and Raleys are way too expensive.
