Sonoma County Dems hold annual fundraiser next week

The Sonoma County Democratic Party is set to host its annual crab feed fundraiser Feb. 24 at the Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Building.

The event, now in its 24th year, is expected to draw more than 600 attendees and regularly sells out. Party officials are advising early purchase of tickets.

Standard entry is $50. Sponsorship rates start at $150 for two tickets and range up to $1,500 for 16 tickets.

Proceeds support Democratic candidates in the 2012 election.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com. To purchase tickets by mail, send a check to the Sonoma County Democratic Party, P.O. Box 3727, Santa Rosa, CA 95402.

    @ Pete Davis
    Right you are!
The Dems Central Committee put on a crab feed, collect money and give to the likes of Michael Allen, who then kicks back some of it to the Central Committee through his campaign funds which originate mostly from unions and other legislators. Kinda circular. Most of the hit pieces attacking the candidates not endorsed by the local central committee, i.e. any mainstream democratic, are funded by the North Bay Labor Council. The NBLC also pays it’s executive director Lisa Maldanado to add comments here on Watch Sonoma County everyday.

“WE sure are angry about those CORRUPT bankers for sure. NONE of them are going to jail but plenty of people are losing their homes because of bank fraudulent practices.”

You can blame the President for not pursuing legal remedies vigorously…once the darling of progressives.

Bear-you should explain to Money Grubber that your horizons are quite expanded, thank you, and you don’t need advice from him. I relish your posts as you seem quite reasonable. One of the few on WSC.

He seems to think we progressives are protective of progressive candidates that break the law. He believes all progressives in office are corrupt in some way and can’t be trusted. You and I know differently. ANY government official, whether Dem or Repug or Indepedent etc, who breaks the law deserves to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. In fact, I think progressives are less tolerant of law breakers than Republicans. WE sure are angry about those CORRUPT bankers for sure. NONE of them are going to jail but plenty of people are losing their homes because of bank fraudulent practices.

As for the fundraisers-there are plenty of Republican fundraiser out there.

I would guess that the felony conviction rate of Republicans roughly equals that of Democrats.

You see, Bear, the government at the local, state, and federal level is and has been corrupt for a long time.

Beware of people pointing the finger at one party or the other because its always an attempt to cover up for the criminal acts of the party that person belongs to.

Just watching the daily news across the state and country should demonstrate that to you. But, of course, if you do nothing but read the Press Democrat… you’d never know.

Expand your horizons, Bear. Do some online reading from other news media. You’ll be surprised and enlightened.

    To bear,

The Republicans raise funds legally and don’t keep it hidden is a freezer in Louisiana.

  7. bear says:

How do republicans raise funds, and what is their record on felony convictions?

  8. Pete Davis says:

Why do they bother? These democrats control the wheels and levers of Sonoma County. Much of this courtesy of the large public union donations of county and city employees.

Have any of the party faithful or this paper ever ask for an accounting of where the crab feed collections end up?
