Kelly Mather, the former CEO of Sutter Lakeside Hospital in Lakeport, has taken over the helm at Sonoma Valley Hospital, officials said Tuesday.
Bill Boerum, chairman of the Sonoma Valley Hospital District board, predicted in a press release announcing Mather’s hiring that she will be a “transformational presence.”
Mather developed the “Healing Model for Hospitals” concept that encourages health and wellness within the organization and in the community, and not just treating illness.
She brought the concept to Sutter Lakeside, where she was the CEO for eight years. Mather left that position in 2008 to found Harmony Healing House, an education and consultancy organization.
Prior to her stint in Lakeport, Mather held the position of CEO at San Leandro Hospital.
The married mother of three said she is looking forward to her new role in Sonoma.

I wish the Press Democrat would let me airbrush and photoshop my picture for the newspaper. Usually the PD looks for the most unflattering mug shots possible for these things.
