The Santa Rosa City Council may postpone a plan to charge people $5 to park at Howarth Park until after the Nov. 2 election.
City officials had planned to ask the council Tuesday for approval to buy the parking stations needed to begin the controversial program.
But it’s possible the council may delay that program, which was supposed to start Sept. 1, according to Interim City Manager Wayne Goldberg.
Councilman Gary Wysocky hinted last week that he might oppose the parking plan if a sales tax revenue measure passed in November.
The rest of the council should vote against Gary to help the city out of the budget deficit.
